Overview
Austria's Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs publishes the harmonized Schengen application form and requirements at bmeia.gv.at. As with most Schengen states, you complete the form and gather documents yourself, then submit them and give biometrics in person — either at the Austrian embassy/consulate covering your place of residence, or at a designated Visa Application Centre where one has been outsourced (commonly VFS Global or similar partners). The in-person step is an EU-wide biometrics requirement, not a sign you need a paid agent.
